Replacements doesn’t have a listing for this one but it was produced in the 1930s by Burgess and Leigh in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent at the Middleport Pottery factory. There’s a depiction of Pan playing his pipes under a tree with mushrooms inder the full moon in yellow, grey and green. All three pieces have the beehive backstamp with the cup and saucer also having the Zenith stamp for the shape and the plate having the London shape stamp… and the pictorial Pan stamp. This was and still is a popular pattern in Burleighware- one has to wonder just how popular for it to have it’s very own backstamp! The cup has the lovely leaf detail of the Zenith pattern.

It reminds me a lot of Narnia- I’m certain that it’s Mr Tumnus- so Emily has called this one “Lucy”. This could have either an old fashioned tea or Mellow Mint- either would fit nicely.
